Static and Rising Security bollards are a common feature of metropolitan and pedestrianised areas. Static bollards have been in use for decades to control non-vehicular access to public areas. However, the range of bollard types is vast and knowing which solution is suitable for your project or planning requirements can be daunting.

Static bollards permanently reduce the flow of pedestrian traffic in high volume areas such as parks, train stations, airports and event stadiums. They are quite different to automatic rising bollards, which serve a more responsive security purpose.

Automatic rising bollards are constructed be Eagle Automation, to PAS68 standards and can be programmed to rise from the ground on demand. This allows traffic control to pedestrian areas and prevents entry to a site where security restrictions are only required temporarily.

There is also an increase in private home owners, looking to improve their home security with minimal visual alteration, by installing automatically rising bollards within their driveways, instead of gated security access.
