Movingui hardwood as like Iroko, is a very long lasting and extremely durable West African timber that does not require any treatment, and is a very durable classification timber giving good longevity and stability.
Movingui timber is a consistent light brown colour throughout, and all timbers will naturally weather down evenly over a short period of time to a silver grey colour. Pigmented oils and wood stains can be applied prior to installation to prevent unsightly staining due to rainwater, although this is for cosmetic purposes only.
We recommend that advice is taken for paint applications on Movingui hardwood products, as they need to be de-greased due to the natural tannins within the timbers.
Matching large gate post timbers are not available in Movingui due to species type, however we are able to supply Garapa post timbers a South American timber that is similar in appearance, which have extremely durable, long lasting and exceptionally stable qualities with minimal shaking.
Both Movingui and Garapa are sourced from fully sustainable sources and carry FSC certification upon request.
